Basic Training Fitness, the BOOT CAMP specialists! Our team of instructors are certified professionals and our outdoor Basic Training Boot Camp Program is guaranteed to get you results! On this page you can find answers to questions that are common to many first time boot camp registrants.

Q: If I buy 4 weeks to start can I buy the next 4 afterwards?
A: Yes you can purchase the other 4 weeks at any point prior to the next 4 wk start. However, spaces are limited so availability is not guaranteed. The sooner you purchase the following 4 weeks, the better chance there will be space. We do ask returning recruits to purchase the next session at least 1 week before session start so we can plan accordingly for class size, etc.
Q: What kinds of things will I be doing in class?
A: We focus on strength training using body resistance and cardio training. We accomplish this by doing exercises such as squats, lunges, sit ups, push ups, variety of drills and even use things available in the parks such as benches, bike racks, parking blocks, etc and incorporate them into the workout to make it interesting. Each class is a little bit different as we like to change things up regularly. We always warm up at the beginning of the class and stretch at the end.
Q: Is this a very rigid military type of training program?
A: The boot camp classes are somewhere between your typical military style basic training and a fun outdoor fitness class. It’s really a combination of both because although we use many exercises and drills that you would think of when hearing the words “boot camp”, we also combine other exercises that you would find in many other fitness classes or sport team practises. It is challenging, but you can work out at your own pace if you need to based on health/injuries or overall fitness level. For this reason, all levels of fitness are welcome. You will complete a full body workout in the 1 hour and we will increase the intensity each class and show you harder versions of some of the exercises so that you can continue to challenge yourself. ..and hey...if you are not sure about it, come watch us in action, or try a class for free!
Q: What do I need to bring to class with me?
A: You will need to bring an exercise mat, 3-5 lb hand weights for women are recommended and 8-10 lbs for men (not mandatory and you may want to skip purchasing these if you don’t have them if you are only coming for a free trial), wear running shoes and dress comfortably, and always remember to bring water!
Q: What is the fitness level/age range of the participants in the class?
A: We have a variety of participants sign up. Ages have ranged from 16-62 yrs old, and fitness levels range from Beginner to Advanced. Everyone still benefits from the program because the trainers are able to show exercises stepped up or stepped down. Everyone has the option of working out at their own pace if they need to, and if they have concerns about previous injuries, etc they can always spend a bit of time with the trainer before or after class to discuss how they can get the most out of the program based on their specific needs.
Q: I noticed there is a nutritional component to your boot camp. Does this mean I have to follow a specific diet?
A: No, the nutritional component is completely optional. If you choose to purchase the nutritional component, you will be offered a survey to complete at home which will take approximately 45 minutes to complete. You will rate a variety of symptoms and check off whether or not they apply to you. These surveys are forwarded to our on-staff registered holistic nutritionist for evaluation. Bianca will prepare your personal nutritional analysis based on your completed survey. You will also have an opportunity to learn how to interpret your results. The cost of this portion of the program is an additional $30 plus gst. Please contact us for more information or to schedule your nutritional assessment.
Q: I want to participate in the boot camp program, but I have an injury/condition that I am concerned about. Can I still participate in the boot camp fitness program?
A: All participants are required to sign a waiver and complete a health questionnaire prior to beginning any of our fitness programs. Whenever a participant has concerns about one of their answers on the health questionnaire we recommend they see their doctor and get medical clearance prior to beginning the program. We do not recommend pregnant women participate in this program, and we ask that if you become pregnant during the course of the program that you advise your trainer immediately.
Q: What results can I expect after completing your boot camp program?
A: Our clients have experienced a variety of results including feeling stronger, increased muscular capacity, improved endurance, health improvements, feel better overall due to decreased stress levels and improved sleeping patterns, loss of inches, weight loss and much more. However, the actual physical assessment results so far have varied anywhere from up to 15 lbs and overall inches of up to 15. Results will also vary depending upon whether you participate in all 8 classes and whether or not you are practicing healthy eating. Alcohol consumption can also hinder results. If you commit to the program, eat well, and attend every class, you will see results even in just 4 weeks!
Q: What if I miss a class?
A: If you miss a class due to us cancelling (this only happens if there are severe weather warnings otherwise class is on) we will offer a make-up class on a day arranged by your trainer. If you are unable to make that class you are welcome to make up a class on another day at a different location within your 4 week session. We do not reimburse for missed classes.
Q: What if it is raining out?
A: Be prepared to get wet, we will keep you safe by altering our program to avoid slips, trips. We sometimes move to a parking lot or a path and will try to keep you off the ground as much as possible. Some parks do offer some shelter and we will use the sheltered areas if it is an option. Only if we encounter severe weather will we cancel a class and arrange to have it at a later date. (If you are unsure if class is on or not, check your email/voicemail before leaving).
Q: What if I register for the class and then change my mind?
A: We do not offer refunds after registration, but we will issue you a credit for a future program for up to 1 year, or you can transfer that credit to another family member or friend if you prefer.
Q: Can I register for more than one program at a time?
A: Yes, for example if you wanted to do an evening program on a Mon and Wed, then combine that with a stroller camp running on alternate days (or another bootcamp on alternate days), that would be fine but you would still have to go through the process of registering for the 2 separate programs, and 2 payments would be processed separately but you will receive the returning recruit price of only $99 for the second program (if you are a new member registering for 2).
Q: Do you offer free trials and group discounts?
A: YES! Email us at Info@BootCampOntario.com to schedule the free trial in your city. We ask that if you have less than a group of 5 people, that you plan to attend a bootcamp in progress at the posted times, and if you have a group of at least 5 we can come to you to offer you the free trial at your location. Group discounts begin at 8 members - $10 off each for new members, and the more people you get the more you save (this offer is for posted camps and private camps). The returning recruit price is our lowest price even for groups which is $99 plus gst per participant.
Q: How much does Boot Camp Ontario cost?
A: New members join for $129 plus gst, and returning recruits join for only $99 plus gst. Remember to see if you qualify for a group discount. If you are currently a member of another bootcamp program and want to switch to ours you can join our camp for the returning recruit price of only $99 plus gst! (Receipt from other camp is required).
